- Agriculture - The practice of farming.
- Biodiversity - The measure of diversity in ecology. Can apply to variations within species all the way up to a global species scale.
- Biology - The study of living things.
- Clone - An identical copy, almost exclusively of plants.
- Conservation - The protection of an organism or resource.
- Correlation - Relationship between two things. A positive correlation indicates two things are very related. A negative correlation indicates things are related inversely, or as one thing increases the other decreases. No correlation indicates no connection.
- Cultivar - A variety of plant that his been selectively bred for specific characteristics.
- Ecology - The study of the relationships between living things, as well as their environment
- Ecosystem - A system is a network of connections between plants, animals, fungi and microorganisms, and their environment.
- Exploitation - The over-use of a resource beyond what is easily replenishable.
- Monoculture - In biology: A population of the same species. Typically with little to no genetic variation.
- Polyculture - In biology: A population of more than one species. Can also refer to a population with more than one genetic variant.
- Sustainability - The ability to maintain the production and harvesting of vital resources by balancing the needs of people, the planet, and the economy.
